Wednesday Night Market in The Village!

GoDo Marion is a proud sponsor of the NEW Wednesday Night Market, in The Village. All summer long we will be breaking up the work week with a little street party at the corner of 31st and S. Washington Street. We will have vendors, food, drinks and more, and the event will grow even larger as the season goes on.

Mindful Things and Urban Skrawl (3101-3103 S. Washington St.) will each be having their own sidewalk sale.

Ty, the fabulous Snow Cone Lady, will be set up across the street from them.

The Pixy Club is now open! Bring the kids and enjoy FREE POPCORN for Family Game Night!

They have a variety of drinks, snacks and ice cream treats available from the club kitchen.

Just a few doors down from The Pixy Club, you can grab an ice cold beer at The 31 Club or wander across the street and down one block to Yeakle’s Sports Bar.

We have sidewalk space available for a few Vendors and Buskers to set up in front of Mindful Things and The Pixy Club.

Why keep doing the same old thing, when you could try something new? Come on down to The Village, Wednesday, 4-7pm, and let’s have a party!

SR 9 Closing for 9 Months

Kidner Bridge, Spanning Mississinewa River at County Road 700 South, Upland, Grant County, IN

https://www.loc.gov/item/in0351/

City of Marion would like to remind you, in less than two weeks the Mississinewa River Bridge on SR 9 and Matter Park Rd., will be closed on February 12, and remain closed for almost a year for “bridge work.”

The Mississinewa Riverwalk pedestrian trail will remain open except when overhead work may make the trail unsafe for pedestrians to pass nearby.

With such a long closure expected, it’s best to start making alternate plans now. The official detour is SR 15 to SR 218, but you’ll likely find your own “best way.” Just remember to drive safe – we’re all neighbors around here.

Work is expected to be completed and the roadway re-opened by Nov. 22, of this year.

Welcome to GoDo Marion!

Tired of wondering what’s happening in our community without paying for the privilege, or relying on social media gossip?

What about the days of clipping your kid’s picture from the front page, catching up on all the local sports or just knowing why that darn road is closed again?

Information paywalls suck. Especially when most of what you really want to know is free information gathered from the governmental entities your tax dollars support.

That’s why we created Go Do Marion! We are a community service designed to make it easier to find out what’s happening in and around Grant County. We aren’t a traditional “news” service. We’re something new and different.

We gather and collate links to original sources of community news and events. Whether you’re on you’re phone or laptop, you can swing over to our Adventure Board and scroll a simple list of the relevant news and events impacting our community this week.

We also have our Blog where we will try to provide further information when we can. We might cover upcoming road closures, or report from live Events. We will also use this space as a Community Scrapbook. So if you have a photo to share send it in to our Facebook Page, or email us here: info@godomarion.com (Make sure you tell us who you are and who’s in the photo, and don’t forget to provide Contact information for verification purposes.)

We generate revenue from our Native Advertising. Ad space is available direct on our Adventure Board. One price gets you an entire year on our Adventure Board and the process couldn’t be easier! Blog Sponsorships, Display Ads, and Facebook promotional campaigns are also available. Let us help you get your message out!

Email us with advertising questions: ads@godomarion.com

We are also preparing a new digital Memorials page which should be ready to launch shortly.

Take a look around, check out the Adventure Board and the Facebook Page, and Tag us in your photos (if you’d like us to Share them)!

Together we can build a stronger Community online!
