City of Marion would like to remind you, in less than two weeks the Mississinewa River Bridge on SR 9 and Matter Park Rd., will be closed on February 12, and remain closed for almost a year for “bridge work.”
The Mississinewa Riverwalk pedestrian trail will remain open except when overhead work may make the trail unsafe for pedestrians to pass nearby.
With such a long closure expected, it’s best to start making alternate plans now. The official detour is SR 15 to SR 218, but you’ll likely find your own “best way.” Just remember to drive safe – we’re all neighbors around here.
Work is expected to be completed and the roadway re-opened by Nov. 22, of this year.
